Hey Everyone! My name is Hallie Tobia and I am a junior at DHS. In my free time I am teaching swim lessons and fostering kittens for the SPCA. I became interested in this internship because I have really enjoyed taking environmental science this past year and I have always loved science. Also I have grown up around bugs as my mom was an entomologist working at UC Davis way back when, so I was excited to get the opportunity to study monarchs. My first day in the ditch was very wet and muddy because at the time it was raining, it also probably wasn’t a great idea that I was wearing flip flops. The first marker I found was 205, which was buried under some sticks and debris. I am excited to start collecting data and begin my internship!
