It was cloudy on Saturday which made the temperature cool when my team went out to measure our milkweeds. It seems that most milkweeds have emerged, but there are still a few just don’t seem to want to sprout. Our milkweeds ranged anywhere from large ten plus stemmed plants, to small plants barely six centimeters. The most fascinating thing for me was the numerous plants with Monarch eggs present. It seemed that most of our larger milkweed plants would have at least an egg on it. Sometimes I wonder how they got there? Yes, obviously a monarch butterfly laid the eggs, but I haven’t had the chance to see one yet…
