Yesterday Sarah, Nancy, and I went out to observe plants #468-491. It was a beautiful sunny day that later turned into an overcast (but still very nice) day. We encountered a lot of friendly dog walkers who gave us some strange looks as we fought our way through the deep grass in our flip flops and Birkenstock’s in order to find our plants.
Although most of our plants this week were not emerged , we did find a stage 4 monarch, which was about 20 mm and absolutely stunning to finally be able to see.
Overall it was a successful day in the field!
