My name is Elliot Chan, and I am a junior at Davis Senior High. I am really excited to be working on the MMMILC project this year because I have never done anything like this before, and it will give me data collection and research skills. When I was at the site, I saw many interesting things. I saw a monarch caterpillar that was in its third instar, some monarch butterfly wings, and a praying mantis. Dr. Yang pointed out that birds rip the wings off before they eat the butterflies because they cannot eat them, which is why we found those wings.
