Journey to “the Ditch”

My name is Luke Mangney and I will be involved with the MMMILC internship this year. I signed up for the internship last year because I thought it would be a great way to gain experience in the science field. I am interested in environmental science and hope that I will learn things that will be useful for the future. I visited “the ditch” this week to observe some milkweed plants. One thing I found interesting was that all the plants seemed to be growing near the creek. The landscape was yellow and dead away from the river. I’m curious whether milkweeds in other locations also grow near the water. Perhaps this is only common in hot climates like Davis.
