Measuring Milkweeds 9-9-17

Although Celeste Jacobs, Everett Sloane, and I (Ronja Keeley) met at the ditch at 10:30, it was already very hot. As we began to tackle our plants, we quickly decided that next time, earlier in the day would be a better time to take the measurements. Although our plants were very large and green, we only saw one caterpillar. However, it was a 5th instar and I got a very nice picture of it! We saw many other insects including oleander aphids, large and small milkweed bugs, dragonflies, jumping spiders, lady bugs, and even a praying mantis!
