On Friday evening, Isabella Palacio, Everett Sloane, and I met at the levee for data collection. The weather was surprisingly pleasant as compared to the past weeks of blistering heat and luckily the stretch of plants that we were assigned were located in the shade near the bridge. In just under and hour, we efficiently measured our assigned plants, 421 to 452, in record time. We observed only a few milkweed bugs, plenty OLAP, and a handful of caterpillars, one being the smallest I have seen thus far. Hopefully some monarchs will be spotted in the future. Athough I did not know either of my internship partners prior to Friday, we all cooperated well and I look forward to meeting and working with new people.
