This past Tuesday I went to the ditch with Sage and Stephanie to measure 368 to 388. The weather was a little warm but felt good! About one-third of our plants were not there/alive, but on the ones that were alive they were covered in bugs! We saw a caterpillar, a couple butterfly (not monarchs…), a praying mantis, and hundreds of milkweed bugs.
I think we saw a UC Davis intern or colleague of Professor Yang’s come down to the ditch and she did something to the plants on the opposite side of the path. It was nice to get our measurements done early in the week , so I could have free time for the rest of the week.
